An elegant and decorative Victorian carved walnut chaise longue, dating to approximately circa 1860–1880.
The chaise features a beautifully shaped serpentine back with a raised central oval upholstered panel, flanked by sweeping scroll-carved openwork supports and upholstered end panels. The solid walnut frame is richly ornamented with intricate foliate carving, scrolled detailing and a central carved cartouche to the front rail.
Upholstered in an attractive cream floral tapestry-style fabric with muted pink, green and gold tones, the chaise offers a soft, traditional appearance that complements the warmth of the polished walnut frame.
